Juliana Down is a multinational rock band based in Dubai. The band is the first truly international sounding act to come out of the region.
The band has opened for a number of international artists including Muse, Guns N’ Roses and Maroon 5.
Three of the band's singles have been receiving significant airplay on radio and TV stations across the Middle East and Asia since late 2010.
In March 2011 Juliana Down became the first band from the UAE to be signed to a major record label with the signing of a distribution deal with Sony Music Middle East. In April 2011 the band released the album, ‘Empires’, which has received significant critical acclaim.
The band won the AVIMA 2009 Best Rock Vocalist (Dia) and the Ahlan! 2010 Best Band in Dubai and were recognised by Time Out magazine as one of the "Fantastic 40" putting Dubai on the world map.
In October 2011 Juliana Down wrote, recorded and licensed to Emirates Airline the official anthem for the Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament. One of the leading sporting events in the Middle East, the Sevens attracts players and fans from all over the world. The track; 'Your Time Is Now' featured prominently at the tournament and in all related advertising and will be the official anthem for the next 5 years.
In early 2012, Juliana Down concluded deals to become brand ambassadors for Audi Middle East, Jagermeister and Blackberry. The band's single 'Control' is currently featured on the TV commercial for the new Audi Q3.
In April 2012 the band was selected by A&R Worldwide to showcase its material at the Worldwide Radio Summit and MUSEXPO in Hollywood CA. These events have helped to launch the careers of numerous 'A list' artists.
